This is how long I have been procrastinating on this update: the post was originally titled “I Love Jelly in the Fall.” Look, in my defense, it is a pain in the ass to grab all these screenshots and Jelly Cove has been undergoing heavy renovations for the last couple of months so things have been moving all over the place anyway. Now, though, she’s in pretty good shape, and I’m finally ready for the update I’ve been threatening to do since October.
But first, a couple of exciting happenings: I got my first snowflake of the season, and I managed to build my first-ever snowman after two years of kicking those snowballs into nearby rivers and off of cliffs because I didn’t know what to do with them lol
AND I finally got rid of that awful monkey Simon and replaced him with Kitt, and I managed to replace Cheri with a super cute cat villager!!! I actually have nothing against Cheri and personally invited her to the island a while ago, but I just prefer the cats.
As regards house renovations, here’s where we started:
And here’s how it’s going:

I am VERY happy with my new(ish) cottage garden, and my favorite room right now is my basement, that library is literal life goals. I even had room for a little stove where I can make hot chocolate to have while I’m reading in the library. For the rest of the island, I’ve still got some fixing up to do, because I haven’t decided what I want to do with the emptier areas. It’s coming along well, though, and I’m pretty pleased with the entrance and the villagers’ neighborhood.
Miscellaneous shots showing the community garden, museum, retail corner, resident services, and campsite island:
Of course, it wouldn’t be one of my projects if there weren’t any hiccups or time/money wastages along the way, which is how I ended up with a staircase that led to nowhere, not unlike some of the staircases in the Enchanted Forest chronicles. Then after I was finally able to take the staircase out I had a teeny-tiny little cliff that did nothing, until I knocked it back down again. It’s good. It’s all good, or at least it is for now. 😀
